Haddington-Cobbs Creek Neighborhood Plan
What is a Neighborhood plan
Neighborhood planning studies how the building blocks of a city – houses, blocks, streets, parks, businesses, and infrastructure – can make better places for people to live, work, shop, and gather. A Neighborhood Plan studies an area of a city to determine how it’s doing, talks to residents and stakeholders to help make a vision for the neighborhood’s future, identifies opportunities for getting there, and determines specific action steps.
These tend to be plans for the long-term! Development takes a while. Our plan will look forward 10 years into the future and figure out how to get there.
Plan background
The Haddington/Cobbs Creek Neighborhood Plan is focused primarily on the area between 54th St and 63rd St, and between Walnut Ave and Haverford Ave, with special emphasis on the 60th Street Business Corridor.
While we are open to hearing any and all ideas for the future, our team is focusing on four primary pillars to help the plan stay targeted and strategic. The 4 primary goals the Plan aims to tackle are:
Stabilize our Housing
Build our Workforce
Revitalize our Corridor
Reimagine our Assets

Community Conversation
On January 29th ACHIEVEability hosted the community kickoff for our Neighborhood Plan efforts, with a shared dinner and conversations. With more than 80 community members in attendance, we had a fantastic night with lots of great ideas and brainstorming.
If you weren’t able to make it, you can see pictures from the event here. Flip through our introductory slides that were discussed here. And, join the conversation and fill out our neighborhood survey here. Check back soon for a summary of the conversations that took place, so you can learn what your neighbors want to see in the neighborhood.
